Job Title: Sports and Entertainment Partnerships Director

Location: 100VE

JOB PURPOSE

The Brand Experiences team leads the transformation of Personal Care marketing by designing and deploying Social First Demand Generation. This includes culturally relevant partnerships, digital brand experiences, influencer and creator strategies, and a content infrastructure powered by talent and technology.

As part of this transformation, Sports and Entertainment partnerships are critical levers to build brand relevance, cultural resonance, and business impact. These partnerships offer a powerful platform to connect with consumers through passion points and shared values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and deploy the global strategy for sports and entertainment partnerships across Personal Care.
  • Lead manage and execute flagship partnerships such as FIFA and other global sports and entertainment platforms to their commercial targets, in our partnership with markets
  • Identify, negotiate and activate new partnership opportunities across music, film, gaming, celebrities, and live events, with end-to-end accountability to in store / retail.
  • Collaborate with brand and market teams to integrate partnerships into brand campaigns and experiences.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key partners, retail accounts, rights holders, talent, and agencies.
  • Create best-in-class social first activation playbooks and toolkits for global and local teams.
  • Lead measurement and evaluation of partnership impact on brand and business KPIs.
  • Pilot innovative partnership models and scale successful approaches across markets working hand in hand with our Joint Business Partners (Tik Tok, Meta, Google etc).
  • Directly manage a small team of experts, with Retail/Customer teams, Procurement, Finance and Legal to manage contracts, rights, and compliance. Partner with market teams on end-to-end execution.
  • Train and upskill brand and country teams on partnership strategy and execution.

  • Proven experience (10-15 years) in leading global sports and/or entertainment partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of the media, sponsorship, and entertainment landscape.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset and creative flair.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Passionate about culture, consumer behaviour, and brand storytelling.
  • Comfortable navigating complex organisations and fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with partnership measurement frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Location

In June 2020 we announced our plan to consolidate a number of Unilever’s offices across the South East of England into a new Unilever campus in Kingston-upon-Thames in or around early 2025. However, on the 08 August 2024 we announced to our existing staff our proposal to retain our central Head Office in London, 100 Victoria Embankment (“100VE”) until our lease expires in 2027. As a result of this new proposal, we will be consulting with our existing staff, and new joiners who join during this period of consultation at 100VE, on the proposal made in August 2024. During consultation we will clarify the future location of each team and function. This means your role will either be based in 100VE until 2027 or in Kingston-Upon-Thames from early 2025. As we are yet to commence consultation on the proposal you agree, until such a time when consultation has concluded, your normal place of work as set out in the enclosed Statement of Terms & Conditions will be 100VE. You agree that on the conclusion of the consultation your place of work will be 100VE or 100VE until early 2025 and then Kingston-upon-Thames ("the locations") and you will be notified of which of the locations will be your place of work after that consultation ends.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money.In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
