JOB PURPOSE

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

This role is responsible for leading the Financial Reporting for Turkey and Unica. The candidate is expected to have excellent stakeholder management and Business Partnering skills to work with the Com-Ex LT and senior business stakeholders in markets (Head of Finance and Controller).

The role involves acting as the lead across these activities:

  • Leading Corporate Financial month end closing and reporting
  • Operate and own RTR controls under Unilever’s Global Financial Control Framework
  • Drive End to End Balance Sheet Hygiene to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Maintain key health indicators and minimise Value at Risk.
  • Lead Digital: Deploy technology in RtR Area e.g. Blackline Smartclose for JV, migration from Xpandion to new Fixed Assets Workflow etc
  • Re-engineer processes, drive RPA automation.
  • Excellent understanding of analytical tools and their applications, and a strong technology orientation: To driven Analytics based approach for review and outlier identification.
  • Partner transformational global and local projects/initiatives.

Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain “zero CDRs” across Statutory & SOX audits, ensure compliance to GFCF & Access controls. Facilitating auditors with process walkthroughs for in-scope global processes.
  • Fully compliant to GPM, APM & SMF across markets, ensuring compliance to annual/ periodic versions of the same.
  • Support & ensure zero “control lapses” in annual CAD audit for all India entities.
  • Support CSC teams driving control health indicators, ensure hygiene across balance sheet.
  • Ensure Delivery of major global transformation programs (e.g. Smart close, Business transformation projects, Annual SCOA changes, etc.), initiatives led by global functional teams (e.g. GCAD, PEC) and continuous improvement opportunities in the RtR process area.
  • Work closely with the Markets and PEC, to ensure effective delivery of all initiatives across different markets
  • Support Markets in Local projects (like Balance Sheet revaluation, etc)

Team

  • Develop a high performing collaborative team of subject matter experts in RtR areas. This Role will have direct line management of 4 team members and will potentially also be required to demonstrate leadership with 3PSP teams.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with key skills of Leadership, Ownership, Capability building, Change Management and Passion for high performance.

  • Min. 8 years of relevant experience (Big four, International Corporation Finance Reporting experience preferred)
  • A qualified Chartered Accountant or an equivalent Business Management degree in finance and accounts with strong experience in financial accounting
  • The experience in global/regional process design and organizational transformation programs.

  • Group Chief Accountant and his team (GCAD) & Process Excellence teams
  • Commercial Experience Leadership team
  • NFDs & Finance controllers in Markets
  • Global R2R Third party service providers
  • Corporate audit team

  • Preferred additional skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Unilever Financial Accounting Policies, SCOA and R2R relevant GFCF controls
  • SAP knowledge in financial accounting and R2R tools that are implemented in Unilever.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Unilever's Global functions especially Record to Report
  • Experience in Unilever Finance especially in MCO / Country controlling and or global expertise roles would be preferred
  • Strong stakeholder management including senior leader engagement
