An important capability within the clinical ecosystem for Wellbeing includes expertise in Biostatistics and Data Management, to optimise and democratise usage of our clinical data.
This ecosystem is aligned to long-term platform areas within the WBC, as well as in partnership with our operating company brands.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Biostatistics Manager to lead statistical analysis planning and execution across our long-term science platforms and operating company clinical research projects. This role is ideal for a data-driven professional with a strong background in biostatistics and a proven track record in the FMCG industry.
The role requires the ability to translate findings from clinical studies, working within a small agile core team in a matrix organization. Strong people and networking skills and a true passion for innovation also required. The role reports to Clinical Development Associate Director, Nutritional Sciences and Innovation (NS&I), Wellbeing and will interface with the Global WBC teams and Operating Companies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead
• Lead the statistical analysis plan development and interpretation of results for clinical studies to support product claims and innovation.
• Develop and implement statistical methodologies for experimental design, data analysis, predictive modelling and insight data mining.
• Ensure statistical integrity and validity of analysis findings in support of key business claims and innovation platforms.
• Present findings to internal stakeholders and external partners in a clear and actionable manner.
• Contribute to scientific publications, white papers, and claims submissions.
Support (within the broader NS&I/ International team)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Regulatory, and operating company experts.
• Translate statistical concepts and interpretation of study results into user-friendly and/or consumer-friendly language for non-experts.
• Develop supporting documents, expert letters and summaries leveraging robust statistical findings for product efficacy and safety support.
• Ensure collaborations with a wider multi-disciplinary team, developing and maintaining appropriate statistical reporting tools to support digital clinical data workflows.
• Ensure high quality statistical design as a member of the Clinical Science Forum
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
• The Clinical Biostatistics Manager will play a critical role in the Nutritional Sciences and Innovation team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other team members and Operating Companies to develop and implement strategic statistical analysis plans in support of defined clinical data workflows.
• The successful candidate will have a Master’s or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in biostatistics within the FMCG, pharmaceutical, or consumer health industry.
• Experience working with large-scale clinical datasets.
• Ability to translate complex statistical concepts into business insights.
• Strong proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python).
• Experience of using structured storage of Clinical datasets (eg CDISC) desirable.
• Familiarity with supplement-related research, advertising support and regulatory frameworks is a plus.
• The role requires the ability to work within a small agile core team and influence a matrix organization. Strong people and networking skills and a true passion for innovation also required. Strong background in clinical science preferred.
• Ability to think flexibly in order to meet constantly shifting priorities and timelines and to independently provide solutions to issues.
• Problem-solving, troubleshooting skills and ability to find creative solutions
• Ability to work successfully in a ‘team-based’ environment
• Ability to manage external collaborations and projects
Pay: The pay range for this position is $99,760 to $149,640. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that areutilizedin making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
