Job Purpose

Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life with the work that you do – creating a better business and a better worldThis role sits in the Global Lifebuoy BG Marketing team and will primarily focus on driving unmissable brand superiority and long term growth of Lifebuoy in Indonesia and Vietnam.  

The role of the Senior Global Brand Manager reports to the Global Brand Lead who will be based in Indonesia. And will support across product, communications & strategy. Indonesia and Vietnam are the 2nd and 3rd biggest markets for Lifebuoy globally and are also the key design cells. This is a high visibility role within Unilever globally and offers plenty of scope for independent brand and team stewardship, agency and cross-functional leadership and creativity. The successful candidate will need to demonstratehigh levels of passion, creativity, an entrepreneurial spirit and strong 

Main Responsibilities

You will be part of the global Lifebuoy Team (BGMarketing)team based in Jakarta and will collaborate with teams from key markets such as Indonesia, Vietnam and India. You will be responsible for holding together the plan by BU( Indonesia and Vietnam) for the brand and category. You will be the main point of contact for all the functions working on projects / engagement plans for this region. With the ambition of asserting our skin cleansing leadership in this region and growing it at double digit year on year.

  • Lead, inspire, and coach a team of 2 Assistant Brand Managers, all co-located in Jakarta, Indonesia. 

  • Developing the strategic vision and growth roadmap for Lifebuoy growth in Indonesia and other SEA countries and responsible for executing the plans.

  • Partner with cross functional teams -CMI, R&D, Supply Chain, Claims and Legal, Artwork Excellence, Fragrance Team to ensure a robust innovation funnel across all platforms for Indonesia and Vietnam – and ensure delivering against the innovation and communication plansThe goal of the partnering is to ensure Unmissable Brand Superiority for Lifebuoy (  Technical Project Leader to deliver superior technology, CMI (Consumer & Market Insight team) to maximize consumer impact, Supply Chain to expedite capabilities and maximize efficiency, Claims & Legal to develop and support superiority claims, Finance to build profitable business cases, Packaging and Creative Services. This will require interacting, leading, inspiring and driving teams, often virtually and remotely, to go above and beyond to ensure on-time and in full delivery.

  • Collaborate with agency partners to craft winning communication with best-in-class digital and content (social first) strategies with a special focus on bringing in local Cultural nuances.

  • Manage Lifebuoy’s brand performance ,challenges and opportunities in each of the markets to tailor the activity plan and strategy to win, whilst maximizing synergies and resources where possible – working closely with Indonesia and Vietnam BU. 

  • Be accountable for the analysis of the brand’s performance in the cluster and competitor intelligence with inputs from local markets, and proactively seek the issues and opportunities from the analysis that will drive critical decision or feed as insights into innovation planning.

Candidate Criteria

Experience & Qualification

  • At least 8+ years of experience in consumer facing industry across the SEA region ( ideally beauty and personal care categories) , including leading global or regional projects

  • bachelor’s degree in business or communications or any related disciples

  • strong understanding of the P&L, having clarity on what drives disproportionate growth and margins for Unilever and our customers. 

  • Experience in either brand crafting or local market deployment

  • Deep understanding of retail landscape, customer dynamics, media landscape and how to win in the marketplace.

Skill

  • Strong in local Indonesian / SEA insights and able to speak/write Indonesian fluently .

  • Storytelling ability: You know how to spot issues and how to frame them in a simple and compelling way.
