Background & Purpose of the Job:
The purpose of this position is to support the continuous improvement program for the site. The core deliverables are elimination of losses & waste and increase the stability of our technical packaging equipment.
The FI Reliability Engineer role is critical to the development of our factories to World Class, which means zero defects, zero waste and zero losses. She/he will apply extensively the full range of Focused and Quality Improvement methods and tools to counter losses identified in the areas of Safety (SA), Quality (QC), Cost Deployment (CD), Customer Service (CS) and Logistics (L). The Cost Deployment pillar will be populated with data built up through application of the Managing Manufacturing Performance (MMP) Code, which is key to ensuring focus on key losses.
What You will Do:
You will play a key role in delivering the factory results through the Focused Improvement (FI) methodology. Working directly with Production team members (Area Leads and Technical Operators), site Technical Engineering, and all Pillars to act as the technical advisor providing coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis and the establishment of countermeasures. Collecting and analyzing complex data to penetrate and understand the pareto of losses to attack.
You will achieve this by mastering the WCM methodology through study and practical application, working closely with WCM FI pillar, coaching the factory teams as they progress through the program, and driving change. Understanding time studies, material flow, and workplace organization will ensure optimal resources are being utilized.
You will leverage your training and technical knowledge to eliminate losses, waste, and increase the production output across multiple work centers or production lines. You will manage and drive completion of small-scale capital projects (<$500,000) to deliver improvements in safety, quality, productivity, or reduce NVAA and labor. You will interface with Unilever Engineering to oversee EEM flow and delivery of larger capital projects. You will also play a key role in moving away from the reactive approach to losses towards a proactive approach.
Your line manager will be the World Class Manufacturing Manager for the site who reports to the Factory Director.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
2+ years of relevant engineering work experience
Experience in FI or (WCM/TPM principles in manufacturing), Six Sigma Certification, confident in applying problem solving tools(5W1H, 4M, 5 Whys)
Ability to demonstrate a flair for improvement engineering and technical skills. Experience in automation and controls(Allen Bradley), digital solutions, statistical process controls.
Attention to detail, bias for action, accountability, written and verbal communication skills, data collection and analysis, problem solving, teamwork, and ability to present projects in FI format.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $69,360 to $104,040. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
