JOB PURPOSE:
The Chart of Accounts (CoA) Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Finance Data Model Lead in designing, governing, and implementing a globally harmonised Operational Chart of Accounts within the new ERP system. This role ensures that CoA is structured efficiently, allowing for seamless financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. The position is key to ensuring accurate data migration, harmonization, and integration within the ERP framework and will exist for the project implementation duration, expected to be 2.5–3 years.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Chart of Accounts Development & Implementation:
Lead the work on a globally harmonized Operational Chart of Accounts to ensure consistency across markets and functions.
Ensure alignment with IFRS (group accounting policy), local GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
Support the establishment of account hierarchies, naming conventions, definitions and governance structures.
Collaborate with Record to Report (R2R), MR, FP&A, Tax, and other Process teams (O2C, M2D / SCF, S2P) to ensure the CoA structure enhances reporting and operational efficiency.
Design and implement the GL Account master data maintenance process and tool to ensure data integrity and consistency.
Ensure that local statutory reporting needs and locally mandated Chart of Accounts are also taken into account when designing the global Operating Chart of Accounts.
ERP Transformation & Financial Data Structuring:
Work closely with IT and functional teams to configure and implement the globally harmonised Operational Chart of Accounts within the ERP system.
Assist in designing other financial data dimensions (e.g. cost centers, profit centers etc.) to ensure that the CoA is a "Natural Chart" (i.e. no data dimensions are combined in the CoA).
Identify and support automation opportunities to enhance efficiency in data reconciliation and reporting.
Data Governance & Compliance:
Maintain the integrity, consistency, and security of the CoA master data.
Assist in implementing data governance policies, validation controls, and standard operating procedures.
Support compliance efforts by ensuring financial reporting meets internal controls and audit requirements.
Data Migration:
Assist in executing a robust data migration strategy to ensure a seamless transition from legacy systems.
Support data extraction, transformation, and loading processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Establish validation and reconciliation procedures to identify and resolve errors in migrated data.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support:
Act as a key liaison between Finance, IT, and other process teams to address CoA-related needs.
Provide training and support to finance teams on CoA best practices and ERP functionalities.
Support change management initiatives to drive adoption and efficient usage of the new CoA framework.
Testing & Continuous Improvement:
Participate in testing and validation of the globally harmonised Operational Chart of Accounts within the ERP system.
Conduct data integrity checks and reconciliations to ensure reliable reporting.
Identify gaps in the CoA structure and recommend enhancements for ongoing optimization and scalability.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in finance data management, Chart of Accounts design, or ERP transformation.
Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar) and financial data modelling.
Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
Strong financial data analysis and structuring capabilities.
Familiarity with automation tools and digital finance solutions.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Collaboration & Communication:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage functional teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining high accuracy standards.
