Job Title: Quality Specialist

Location: Port Sunlight Factories

Reports to: Quality Manager

Role based on site Monday to Friday

JOB PURPOSE

Required:

A multi-skilled quality professional with an all-round skill base in FMCG production.

A logical thinker is a must with good practical experience arriving to Root Cause using RCA tools. Previous experience with CIP systems and working with Suppliers is advantageous.

Someone who is very comfortable working safely with minimum direction (after training) to deliver project-based activities on time to agreed KPI’s. Individuals are expected to take responsibility, be skilled, motivated, and committed to delivering business objectives and the continual development of themselves and others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the Quality update at the factory operational meetings

  • Lead operation teams in finding Root Cause Analysis for quality incidents and avoiding reoccurrence

  • Be competent at 4M analysis, 5W1H, Why Why, 5 Questions for Zero tools

  • Lead innovation program activities in quality aspects

  • Support the streamlining of cost of quality

  • Interact with Suppliers to drive improvement

  • Implement hygiene improvements and maintain validation schedules

  • Support installation and maintenance of control charts

  • Conduct audits of sourcing unit in different areas and close gaps on time

  • Ensure all procedures within Quality Management System (QMS) are trained to relevant personnel

  • Acting as a business partner to the Factory Operations Managers; helping align quality requirements with a structured manufacturing strategy

KEY SKILLS

This role requires the following specific skills:

  • Degree in science related discipline or relevant previous experience within a Quality role

  • Previous practical experience in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Tools

  • SPC experience desirable

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate. 

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down. 

What can I do?

If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.
