Job Summary

To provide for the Safety Health and Environment needs of ANZ workers and the relevant business units. This includes providing SHE leadership and practical support and driving SHE improvement programs across non-manufacturing operations in ANZ.

Role Responsibilities:

SHE System Management:

  • Maintain the SHE system to ensure compliance with company and relevant industry and legislative requirements.
  • Develop, track, and assist in the completion of SHE Improvement Plans.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement in the physical environment and safety culture.
  • Develop and schedule SHE training programs based on identified needs.

Leadership and Consultation:

  • Lead consultation structures and committees.
  • Facilitate and lead working groups focused on SHE programs.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Coordinate site SHE communications, including team briefs.
  • Oversee the implementation of all SHE programs and processes.

Operational Control:

  • Ensure operational control standards are developed and adhered to.
  • Lead the emergency preparedness and response program.

Daily SHE Management:

  • Manage day-to-day SHE activities, including risk assessments, incident investigations, action management, and reporting.
  • Complete safety observations and inspections and coordinate the overall monitoring program.

Audits and Compliance:

  • Conduct SHE audits as necessary to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Workers Compensation Support:

  • Support workers compensation activities, including Return to Work Programs.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to manage communications with injured employees and oversee their rehabilitation.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Complete SHE reporting and conduct data analysis to inform SHE strategy.
  • Provide support, advice, and coaching to management and leadership teams on effective SHE management practices.

What you will need to succeed

Experiences & Qualifications

Required :

  • 3-5 yrs Relevant knowledge gained through on-the-job learning, especially in the areas of SHE systems management.
  • Cert IV in OH&S or higher qualification in a related field.
  • Return to Work qualifications and experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of ANZ WHS legislation.
  • Excellent computer and literacy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desired :

  • The ability to be able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • The ability to use data to determine trends and action plans.
  • Experience in Business Operations.
  • Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management.
  • University degree in Science or Engineering. Technology experience in engineering, modelling, data analysis, manufacturing chemistries, environmental operations, environmental impact on the planet, and how those technologies across Unilever impact risk is beneficial.
  • Knowledge in human behaviour and work process associated with unplanned event management.
  • Excellent knowledge of Unilever SHE standards. Working knowledge using all SHE IT tools and how those tools integrate into other functional work processes.
  • Influencing skills and international business/cultural sensitivity.
  • Good observation and auditing skills.
  • Ability to influence strategic deliverables in a widely matrixed organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.
  • Working experience with work processes in all functions in Unilever to best integrate all SHE standards and tools.
