BACKGROUND

  • If you have a passion for innovation, consumer insights and products, then this opportunity might just be for you.  Our newly formed Homecare Consumer Insights organization is looking for someone to join the team in Mumbai, to partner with R&D project teams and create the insights to guide innovation on some of the world’s biggest Homecare brands. Understanding and meeting the needs of our consumers, now and in the future, is at the heart of the Consumer Insight team. This role will play an important part in understanding how Homecare products and packs are perceived and used, translating this understanding into insights and ideas for product & pack  - innovation, development and communication.

  • Consumer experience of a Home Care product is determined by many factors – habits, physical conditions, marketing communication, sensory and design properties of the product, new technologies, and many more. Understanding the product experience and its impact on consumer perception will be a key part of this role, creating a link between products and the people who will use them. The role will need to build our consumer understanding across different markets and will involve working collaboratively with colleagues globally and in different product areas.

  • This global role is based in India (Mumbai), supporting the Homecare business globally, reporting to Senior Manager CI. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to join a dynamic team with experience in Consumer science, Sensory and Claims. The general purpose of the job is to work in a multi-disciplinary business environment, providing critical link between the Global team and Cluster colleagues around the globe, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Evaluation and Insights to support our Global Innovation program and CI capability build.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

The role will be focused on Consumer evaluation partnering Global R&D, HC Category based in India (Mumbai) - this would include understanding business requirements, designing consumer studies, reporting results and managing stakeholders. The study types can include both qualitative and quantitative testing which will span all types of consumer testing done by CI such as Product testing, Fragrance evaluation, Pack testing, Claims testing etc.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Understanding business needs and crafting the Consumer Insight testing plans to help the business in achieving these objectives.

  • Lead and implement any studies according to project needs, working with relevant internal and/or external partners

  • To select, brief and hold accountable the relevant external 3rd party(ies) and other partners.

  • To analyze data and reports (including from 3rd parties) and add value from other sources of knowledge to give maximum value to stakeholders.

  • To extract insights from multiple sources of information and identify the opportunities for the business.


KEY SKILLS

  • Familiarity with consumer research techniques (qualitative, quantitative and sensory).

  • Ability to interpret data, from multiple sources in order to identify relevant insights.

  • Ability to communicate consumer insights to a variety of audiences.

  • Problem solving skills with practical creativity.

  • Ability to work with in multi-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage and communicate with stakeholders, including those from non-technical backgrounds.

  • Good organization and time-management.


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Consumer research and insights experience – worked on both qualitative and quantitative research with larger focus on the latter

  • Relevant experience – 3 years

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Experience of FMCG or in market research agency


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Good command over MS word, Excel and Power Point

  • Willing to travel both within and outside India
