Background & Purpose of the Job

In this role, the successful candidate will business partner the Skin Category and lead the supplier partnering program, including innovation, cost savings, and end-to-end value chain initiatives, complexity reduction, sustainability. As Procurement Manager Skin cleansing,

You are the voice of Procurement to the Skin Category, responsible for creating and embedding procurement strategies into Category Program and vice versa. 

Key program activities include driving innovation led growth through the supplier base, coordinating the 5S margin delivery program through benchmarking, and leading the procurement inputs for the innovation funnel within the cross-functional category team and ensuring a resilient supply chain, Managing our exciting People Planet Positive agenda along with complexity reduction. Further this role will also take on cross BPC initiatives on behalf of the Procurement organization.

Key Accountabilities:

• Procurement business partner to the skin cleansing category.
• Ideate, Lead and implement material efficiency through cost reduction / saving ideas through robust internal and external benchmarking program.
• Lead and partner global 5S workshops for skin cleansing category to create next 3 years savings pipeline.
• Drive ASA/ AMA (alternative supplier/alternative material) projects delivery for either resilience or 5S or RAAS pillar.
• Lead Value Chain Intervention (VCI) pillar for PC/Skin cleansing in terms of savings delivery, savings pipeline creation and overall governance.
• Responsible for procurement deliverables in innovation funnel – supplier identification, development, risk assessment and mitigation, competitive pricing
• Work with squad leads, to identify, drive and implement cross functional complexity reduction projects
• Create skin cleansing procurement strategy in line with Personal Care strategy and roadmap coordinating with BU procurement, Global procurement and R&D team.
• Support R&D, finance and BU teams for key strategic initiatives / cross BU projects / forecasting outputs / inflation inputs and Governance.
• Partner with Sustainability squad and BU teams to achieve annual targets in terms of GHG emissions, plastic reduction (VPR), palm footprint reduction etc.

• You’re a strategy guru: You have a clear understanding of the Division’s strategy, wants and needs.  You can translate the business and technical roadmap to inform the material and supplier strategy.
• You’re a dot connector: You can see the big picture within the end-to-end value chain and drive value creation to the category.  You can spot trends and the impacts of upfront decisions on the back end of the supply chain.
• You’re a story teller: You will use your strategic influencing skills to drive procurement recommendations within the category based on outside market intelligence.  You bring market intelligence and the “outside in” to the category by reporting the macro and micro economic trends, material inflation and currency impacts in key markets, enabling the category to take mitigating actions per procurement recommendations.
• You’re a born leader: You are the leader of the Partnering program.  It is your role to connect supplier partners and disruptors to the category leadership to facilitate supplier led innovation growth and cost saving initiatives. You will lead the Smart Partnering pillar within the 5S Margin delivery program and be a co-leader within the 5S margin delivery cross-functional core team.
• You’re a teacher:.  You will work collaboratively with your peers by sharing and taking best practice for the benefit of Skin cleansing and the overall Procurement community.  You will ensure your cross functional partners are clear on the Procurement ways of working.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• University degree in business, supply chain, procurement engineering or the sciences
• Proven track record in effective stakeholder management
• Extensive experience in supply chain / R&D / Procurement with end-to-end supply chain and innovation background highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and team working ability at all levels
• Relevant experience in a managerial role in the FMCG industry
• Creative solutions-oriented mindset to meet the competitive and business challenges of the category
• Working effectively in virtual and diverse teams
• Comfortable working cross functionally and across many cultures
