ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
An exciting opportunity opens up for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the role will support day-to-day payroll operations, tax compliance activities and process improvement, including setting up business continuity workflow/plans in accordance with Unilever operating procedures, policies and guidelines.
Payroll Support and Process Improvement
With outsourced team’s support, ensure accurate and timely interpretation and data input to payroll systems against new reward cycle, time and attendance data / payment-related calculations for payroll accuracy
Deliver excellent employee payroll experience through accurate payroll processing, reporting within agreed SLAs/KPIs
Perform payroll checks as per Global Sox Payroll Audit guidelines
Submit monthly payroll data for approvals before crediting to employee accounts
Process statutory payments and deductions
Process pension-related payments
Generate payroll-related reports
Timely distribution/communication of payslips to employees
Computation of final benefits during exit processes
Reward and payroll related communication i.e. schedules, guidelines
Manage employee payroll queries
Ensure audit requirements are met both internally and externally
Initiate Request for Funding to Treasury Team for Payroll & Tax related disbursements
Provide information for Survey, Internal Reports and Adhoc Reports request internally and from authorized 3rd parties.
Lead payroll & tax projects and process improvement initiatives
Tax Support and Process Improvement
Handle & review IR21 of employees
Review Year End Tax Forms (IR8E, A8A, A8B, IR8S) of employees, oversee and ensure that payroll vendor submits accurate tax forms to the tax authority
Monitor and Manage the Directive to Pay/Notice of Assessment
Coordinate with employees/HRBPs/LMs/tax authority to resolve tax issues
Coordinate with relevant parties to settle taxes borne due to shares
Ensure Tax Payment is done accordingly and on time and raise the applicable journal for the payment
Attend to Adhoc Tax Request and Inquiries
Expat/International Assignee Tax Management
Check NOA amount, queries to Deloitte
Filing and maintaining tax records
Checking of BIK and IR21
Ensure payroll vendors submit IR21
Monthly maintenance to ensure salary withholding CBT
Review the payroll and tax process to ensure adherence to policies/guidelines and audits
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll and tax processing focusing Singapore Payroll
Analytical, with high attention to detail
Passionate in improving payroll and tax processes for increased operational efficiency
Able to manage confidential and sensitive data appropriately
Comfortable in working in a matrix environment
Understanding of HR processes relating to employee life cycle
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Experience in payroll processing for other APAC countries is an advantage
