Key Responsibilities
Act as an Internal SME to LIFT (Logistics Insights and Forecasting Tool)- Centralized European Logistics Reporting Platform (Transportation , Warehousing and Logistics Finance)
Act as an internal SME to champion Cost-to-Serve practices and train colleagues across functions
Act as a key enabler for the business to make data-driven decisions on cost savings, margin improvements, short-term and long-term process improvements and transformations
Translate complex business challenges into data and analytics problems, design effective solution approaches, and deliver actionable insights that drive informed decision-making
Rapidly learn and internalise the fundamental principles of Cost-to-Serve, the source data, the underlying logic, how to navigate the reports and analytics, and how to partner with business stakeholders in utilising the analytics to enhance decision-making at scale
Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, D&A, Finance, CD to ensure Cost-to-Serve insights support operational efficiency, trade-offs between service levels and costs, network design, and customer profitability decisions
Strive to become the key go-to person for ad hoc projects, customer negotiations, and business cases requiring cost information
Be on the lookout for internal processes which can utilise or be integrated with Cost-to-Serve data to achieve process improvements and efficiencies
Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on supply chain cost optimisation strategies
Benchmark existing Cost-to-Serve processes and performance against industry standards to ensure Cost-to-Serve remains relevant, embedded, and beneficial to the organisation
Define and enforce Cost-to-Serve governance standards (data sources, allocation rules, reporting frequency, management packs)
Collaborate with business, D&A, and third-party stakeholders to continuously improve methodologies and accuracy of Cost-to-Serve insights
Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating team members, fostering collaboration and driving results through effective team guidance.
Drive the behavioural changes needed to drive the adoption of analytics
Essential Skills
Strong understanding and keen interest in end-to-end Unilever Supply Chain / Logistics processes including but not limited to ordering, warehousing, transportation, and customer service
Ability to communicate financial and operational insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Ability to work in a highly collaborative international and virtual team environment, as well as being able work independently
Continuous improvement mindset, always seeking ways to optimise cost-service trade-offs
Results-oriented, with focus on linking Cost-to-Serve insights to measurable outcomes
Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable to evolving supply chain challenges
Stakeholder engagement skills in handling pushback from supply chain, finance, and commercial teams
Willingness to learn and continuously improve
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint,
Creation and visualization of Power BI reports, dashboards and apps
Experience with ERP and other supply chain planning systems (SAP, OTM, etc)
Analytical and financial modelling skills using Excel, Power BI, and SQL
Experience leading cross-functional deep-dive / opportunity finding initiatives,
Change management, communication, and influencing skills to ensure Cost-to-Serve performance targets are adopted
Desired Skills (not mandatory, but willingness to learn is required)
Experience facilitating performance review meetings
Knowledge of sustainability-linked cost drivers (e.g. carbon-to-serve)
Demonstrates working knowledge of MDX for querying multidimensional data structures in analytical environments.
Finance, management accounting, and activity-based costing (ABC) know-how
Understanding of financial KPIs (P&L, gross margin, CPP, DC%TO) and how they connect to operational KPIs (TLU, Case Pick %, Average Inventory, cost per drop)
