JOB PURPOSE
Organizes and prioritises workload effectively to deliver high-impact tasks and projects on time and to a high standard. Responds with agility to internal and external needs, market trends, and competitor actions to seize opportunities and improve performance.

Position Purpose
The Global Commodity Buyer – Foods Pakistan is responsible for managing end to end sourcing and procurement of key food related commodities (e.g., dairy inputs, oils & fats, starches, Flour and Farmed ingredients) for Pakistan and Bangladesh, where applicable, supporting regional/global clusters. The role ensures supply continuity, cost competitiveness, quality compliance, and drives strategic initiatives aligned with Foods Procurement KPIs.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
1. Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for Pakistan Foods categories while aligning with Global Procurement frameworks and cluster buying strategies.
• Deliver annual savings, NMI, Market Insights and productivity targets.
• Lead cost modelling, benchmarking, and value engineering initiatives tailored for the Pakistani foods market.
• Explore and qualify local suppliers to reduce import dependency where feasible.
• Bring Synergies through sourcing among PTAB Markets
2. Supplier & Market Management
• Own relationships with local and regional suppliers across oils, dairy ingredients, starches, cereals and farm based commodities.
• Conduct supplier capability mapping, audits, and performance reviews (OTIF, quality, service, risk).
• Monitor Pakistan and global market dynamics—FX, commodity indices, supply disruptions, regulatory changes—and translate insights into buying recommendations.
3. Supply Chain & Operations Collaboration
• Work closely with SUs (Sourcing Units), Quality, R&D, Finance, and Planning to ensure timely supply and issue resolution.
• Support NPD launches, formulation changes, reformulations (e.g., cost savings, nutrition adaptations), and long term material strategies for Foods.
• Coordinate with Foods BG/BU and regional hubs to ensure alignment with global governance, cover strategies, and contract execution.
4. Compliance, Risk & Governance
• Ensure adherence to Unilever procurement policies, ethics, sustainability principles, and supplier compliance requirements.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply shortages, geopolitical challenges, import restrictions, FX volatility, and regulatory barriers.
• Maintain accurate data, contracts, coverage positions, and system hygiene across tools (Ariba, SAP, Coupa and other portals).
5. Continuous Improvement & Capability Building
• Drive simplification, harmonization, and supplier base optimization for Foods Pakistan.
• Contribute to sustainability programs (e.g., responsible sourcing, reduction of CO₂ footprint, recyclable/renewable packaging choices).
• Leverage learnings from global teams; build best in class procurement capabilities locally.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Food Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
Experience
• 2–4 years of experience in Procurement/Commodity Buying, ideally within Oils, FMCG, Agriculture, or Ingredients sourcing.
• Strong background in managing suppliers within Pakistan’s agricultural and industrial ingredients ecosystem is preferred.

Skill
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent Problem solving skills and ability to think out of the box.
• Understanding of local foods commodity markets (oils, dairy, starches, agricultural commodities).
• Ability to work cross functionally under volatile market conditions.
• Analytical capability: cost modelling, scenario planning, risk assessment.
• High cultural agility & stakeholder management across Pakistan and global teams.
