BUSINESS INTRODUCTION
Personal care (PC) is one of the Business Groups of Unilever. It has a turnover of more than 12Bn Euros. It has three categories – Skin Cleansing, Deodorants and Oral Care. Most of the turnover comes from 8 Power brands – Dove, Rexona, Lux, Pepsodent, Axe, Lifebuoy, Dove Men+Care and CloseUp, with 5 of the 8 power brands having a turnover of more than 1 billion Euros.
PTAB is one of the Business Units of Unilever and spans across Pakistan, Turkey, Arabia and Bangladesh. Within Turkey all the three categories of PC are present with differing footprints. The country is one of the biggest contributors to the PTAB business together with Arabia and offers massive opportunities for innovation and premiumization.

JOB PURPOSE

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • The main purpose of this role is to lead consumer-focused Demand Generation insights for strategic planning and flawless end-to end- execution (including within social media, sales channels, marketing and commerce) across touchpoints.
  • The role particularly focuses on (i) Consumer Insights-led content design and measurement for Brand World building in media and commerce, (ii) Market development in deployment of innovations, and existing core businesses, into hacking multi-year growth, (iii) Supporting global brand design teams in executing and transforming local research with relevance (iv) Premiumization of our portfolio ahead of the market (v) Insights & data capability building within Turkey.
  • This role covers end to end insights and transformation of Insights across all our Power Brands from a demand generation POV - offline and online channels and desirable brand world building at scale. It also oversees in annual workplan items the country’s sources of quantitative data and market mix modelling applications.
  • You will be responsible for the identification and translation of consumer, market, channel, community, cultural and trends insights for social and sales channels, brand engagement and demand generation with the ultimate goal of translating these into an agile insights ecosystem which provides business with a competitive edge to stay ‘three steps ahead’.
  • You’re a digital and social Insights professional with discernment on what really matters to perform: independent and fearlessly impartial. Deliver fact based, objective solutions for integrated insights & measures.
  • You’re a business acumen first Insights professional: Identify strategic possibilities for business growth through portfolio leverage in core and growth pockets. Define input and output KPIs that ensure higher performance opportunities across our end-to-end demand generation system. Mine deep insights which are business pragmatic and not academic / interesting research with little outcomes.
  • You’re a dot connector: Facilitate & lead Insights across a plethora of insights’ sources available – primary & secondary, internal & external to weave into a simplified story which drives a clear call to action and impact. All this needs to translate to strategic differentiation with commercial value.
  • You bring the outside in: Use your innate ability and passion to understand and empathize with consumer and channel audiences (current & emerging), as well as experts, partners and capabilities within and across other categories and businesses to transform and grow the ROI of PC business in Turkey.
  • You’re a change agent: Anticipate the future and basis the same build market shaping repeatable, scalable models. By proactively identifying and simplifying deeply competitive insights and data into demand creation adaptations where needed across markets, and quickly cross fertilize what works and what doesn’t work across our brands and categories.
  • You’re a paradox navigator, who thrives in ambiguity & constant adaptability: Deliver through dynamic, fast paced change, variable people and teams. By leveraging your ability to create partnerships and collaborate with a wide spectrum of CMI, marketing teams, cross functional teams and agency teams.
  • You’re a culture & change champion: Motivate and lead business partners and stakeholders (direct and indirect) to local consumer passion points and relevance in a fast-changing context. Be the lead for PC Transformation journey within Turkey. Cultivating cultural market-leading consumer intimacy and influence at scale within social communities’ insights, through expertise in influencer marketing, earned & paid content media, and insights’ communities’ management.
  • You’re a supreme collaborator: With an accountable owner’s mindset, highly commercial outcomes driven in shaping & translating insights and capabilities embedded with our teams. You’re open to continually unlearn & relearn with collective genius, ruthlessly simplify, challenge our own status quo, and lead for applied agile principles and practices into the organization.
  • By this point in your career, you have a breadth of experience within CMI led digital & social branding, customer and channels management; enabling you to proactively entice change through seamless integration of insights, data & measurement. You continue to develop your Leadership behaviours as well as your talent & team development capabilities, with particular emphasis on ability to build and drive internal with external alliances and capabilities from scratch, and productive virtual relationships with all Brands, BUs and cross functional teams.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Track record in transforming and integrating demand generation, market intelligence, social, consumer and market insights and business performance insights into transformative business growth solutions.
  • Skills / knowledge of digital branding and marketing action, Insight led master content briefing, sales and media insights and impact measures.
  • Ecommerce consumer journeys and pathways demonstrably turned into touchpoints that enhanced brand competitive growth.
  • Ability to define, segment and generate tailored segments and target audiences for differentiated Power Brands in a portfolio of brands.
  • A self-starting individual who is willing & resilient to challenge the status quo to shift paradigms.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and influence decision making across senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability in building relationships and positively influence others at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with confidence, respect and mutual understanding.
  • Insights & big data project management skills.
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience as an Insights, Media, Dcom or Businesss Intelligence leader, with demonstrable business outcome led in marketing activation and market development.
  • Experience / expertise in FMCG industry in Turkey/globally, demand generation and/or channels development and growth hacking will be a plus.
