The Unilever Foods team is on a journey as we look to develop our business and drive growth. Understanding our business and providing continual insights that drive action and growth for our categories and brand is the key focus of Consumer and Market Insights.
In our Cooking Aids & Mini-Meals (CAMM) business, we provide strategic understanding of the consumer, insights to impact growth at our customers and actions to propel growth of the Knorr across categories, and new opportunities spaces. We leverage syndicated and custom research to achieve these goals.
We are looking for a motivated, curious, and passionate CMI Leader who is a growth pioneer that can unearth actionable insights from consumer, market, and commercial data – and translate it into tangible opportunities for growth of our Foods business.
Someone who can spot opportunities, understand what will really address consumer pain points and help bring those ideas to life through a variety of sources.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
The CMI Associate Director partners with our North America Foods Marketing team and Consumer Market Insights team and will be responsible for driving the performance of our Knorr business, including the core and innovation agenda as well as Knorr communication. They will lead insights to drive short- and long-term strategies that help achieve business goals and contribute to the brand’s ambitious growth plan.
Lead the overall insights agenda to shape strategies for the CAMM portfolio across Foods North America. Ensure the team delivers insights with impact to drive growthand profit transformation
Understand the Foods categories and the bigger universe of categories we operate in, customers and channels, the key business objectives and challenges, and set relevant research programs to deliver against business objectives.
Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging methodologies to keep the research function at the forefront of innovation.
Own analysis and understanding of communications research programs for Knorr and how it can lead to competitive growth. Bring expertise and best practice to enable unmissable communication development
Play an integral role in the development of innovations, including ensuing the core business is future fit for continued growth
Inspire development of the long-term innovation roadmap for NA Foods & CAMM Cooking team, including seeking out pockets of growth based on NA-specific insights
Collaborate across functions to ensure insights are effectively translated into actionable strategies. Present insights and strategic recommendations to Foods BU Leadership Team to guide strategy and product positioning. Influence long-term brand strategies through deep consumer understanding and market analysis.
Partner in the development of category growth drivers for the US and ensuring plans align with the future of the category
Bring leading edge thinking, analysis and actions to unlock consistent competitive growth. Champion the voice (with data) of the consumer and customer to drive business impact and enable foods business to meet its short and long-term goal.
Identify competitive growth for Foods: Identify hotspots, issues and opportunities across all cells. Champion insights into action on all things relating to portfolio, innovation and deployment. Synthesize data from diverse sources to provide clear, strategic insights that drive business decisions.
Provide intelligence to shape and future proof our businesses, identifying any emerging trends keeping the business externally focused to quickly respond to external factors.
Manage the CAMM CMI team and develop the future of CMI talent with strong foundational knowledge, identify development opportunities and coach and mentor talent forstrong performance and growth
Manage relationships with external research agencies and vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality research projects. Ensure timely delivery and quality control of research delivery. Scout and pilot future fit / best in class vendors and methodologies.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
Breadth and depth of market research methodologies across qualitative, quantitative, advanced analytics, digital, and AI applications for research.
Key Skills include:Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving, Data synthesis, transformation and analytics, Marketing and 6P Business Acumen, Human Insights, Story Telling and Presentation, coaching and mentoring talent
Requirements:
12+ years of experience in CMI/consumer research including in the US.
Proven track record of using consumer insights to drive measurable action on the business
Passion for the fast and evolving Foods industry
High levels of strategic influencing with leadership and senior stakeholders
Strong People Leader - direct and indirect reporting/ line manager
Effective storyteller and dot connector

Pay: The pay range for this position is $141,680 to $212,520. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
