JOB PURPOSE

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

An SAP Security Consultant is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of SAP systems within an organisation. This role involves managing various Audits, Remediating SAP Vulnerabilities, Complying to security policies, user access controls and authorisation mechanisms in line with organisational and regulatory requirements. The consultant works closely with business stakeholders, SAP Basis teams, and auditors to safeguard sensitive data, prevent unauthorised access, and support compliance initiatives.

  • SAP Audits Management – Understand the various Audits requirement across SAP managed Estate, ensure representation, tracking & Closure of Audit Observations. Actioning Audit observations required meticulous planning and coordination with various teams and alignment with various key stakeholders. Solution to be tested well in non-production environments, Work closely with ITM team to ensure that changes are planned and scheduled in respective windows and approvals are obtained well in advance, executed well with Nil Issues.

  • SAP HOTNEWS & Patch Management - Stay updated with SAP security Patches/Notes, and emerging threats, applying corrective measures as required post impact analysis within the SLAs defined.

  • SAP Vulnerability management – Review the vulnerabilities reported from various Scanning tools like Qualys, WIZ etc. Get the Impact Analysis done, plan the changes in ITM ensuring Nil Issues.

  • SAP Baseline Controls – Timely review and ensure Strict adherence to the SAP and Database Baselines controls, exceptions to be planned and action with Nil Errors.

  • Information Security – knowledge on Cyber Security standards, Frameworks like ISO27001, CIS, NIST etc, Cyber Security GRC, SOC experiences. Understanding on Cyber Security Audits and other assessment exercises. Understanding on Penetration Testing

  • SAP Access Management – FFID Management, Joiner-Leaver-Mover, Access controls based on the Unilever’s Guidelines/Processes.

  • Compliance & Risk Management – Ensure adherence to SOX, GDPR, ISO 27001 standards. Maintain audit readiness and support risk assessments.

  • Technical know-how – individual should have an appetite to upgrade self in SAP Security space. SAP Security knowledge is a must to have to perform this role, and you should update your skills on a day to basis to adapt the changing technology around us.   

  • Vendor Management – As part of day-to-day operations continuous involvement with vendor team is mandated. It is expected that person should be able to drive multiple initiatives with team along with the day-to-day operational activities. Some focus areas are Vulnerability & Audits Management, Assurance & Compliances.

  • Stake holder Management – Support the SAP Technical Security agenda across multiple flavours of SAP systems and interact with resources in multiple geographies and regions. You will be aligned to service delivery managers of various regions and systems and need to ensure that you understand and manage Security expectations along with them. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • SAP BASIS and Security Management exposure

  • Team Lead Position in Managing Landscape or Similar Program 

  • Support roles in a mission critical system environment (24X7)   

Skills

  • SAP Basis and Security Technology skills 

  • OS-level hardening and infrastructure security knowledge.

  • ERP Security understanding (SAP and other ERP platforms).

  • SaaS platform security principles and best practices.

  • Knowledge of security frameworks like CIS and NIST.

  • Familiarity with Cloud environments – Azure, AWS, GCP.

  • Database understanding – DB2, S/4HANA, Oracle DB.

  • OS patching and zero-day vulnerability management.

  • Flexibility and Agility to Manage Proactive engagement 

  • Organizational Awareness 

  • Rigorous Approach; Ability to drive Closures & influence outcomes.

  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management  

  • Strong communication, documentation and reporting skills.

  • Analytical skills for log analysis, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.

Good to Have

  • Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH).

  • SAP-specific security certifications.

  • AI Security awareness and ability to assess risks in AI-driven systems.

  • Project Management (PMP/Prince2) and ITIL certifications.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and Unilever security policies.
