UNILEVER IS LOOKING FOR AN ICE CREAM – Global Operations and Integration Lead 

Location: The Netherlands (Amsterdam) Latin America or Asia

The Ice Cream business is operating in a highly attractive category, as we are part of the 1 trillion snacking and refreshment industry, growing consistently at high pace. We have strong brands equities: 5 of top 10 selling brands including Wall’s, Magnum, Ben &Jerry’s. We are investing to unlock the full growth potential of Ice Cream as a standalone entity, once we separate from Unilever, which is planned to happen by November 2025.

JOB PURPOSE:

Ensure operational excellence, clinical governance, and SHE integration across the global medical and occupational health function. This role also owns the global budget and administration. This role will also hold regional operational responsibility for either Asia-Pacific, China, and ANZ or Americas and Europe.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Global Head of Medical and Occupational health in executing the global strategy through operational delivery.

  • Lead global clinical governance frameworks, including escalation protocols, audits, and minimum service standards.

  • Integrate medical and occupational health into SHE systems and platforms.

  • Co-lead global crisis preparedness and incident response with SHE, including business continuity and pandemic planning.

  • Oversee outsourced service providers in APAC, China, and ANZ, or Americas and Europe.

  • Lead capability development frameworks for clinical and non-clinical professionals.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance across the region.

  • Collaborate with SHE, Legal, and Risk to manage operational health risks.

  • Own the global budget, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting.

  • Manage contracts and SLAs with outsourced service providers across all regions.

  • Lead procurement planning and vendor selection in collaboration with Finance and Procurement.

  • Ensure cost-effectiveness and ROI of programs and digital platforms.

  • Ensure compliance with health data privacy regulations and ethical standards.

  • Facilitate employee feedback mechanisms to improve service quality.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical or clinical background with specialization in occupational health is a must.

  • 10+ years of experience in medical and occupational health operations, SHE integration, or clinical governance is a must.

  • Strong understanding of regional regulatory environments.

  • Experience managing vendors and health systems across multiple geographies.

  • Demonstrated experience in budget ownership, financial planning, and contract management.

SKILLS:   

  • Strategic Operational Leadership: Proven ability to translate global strategy into operational execution across diverse geographies.

  • Clinical Governance Expertise: Deep understanding of clinical quality frameworks, escalation protocols, and audit processes.

  • SHE Integration: Strong grasp of integrating medical and occupational health into Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) systems.

  • Global Vendor & Contract Management: Skilled in managing outsourced service providers, SLAs, and procurement planning across multiple regions.

  • Financial Acumen: Proficient in budget ownership, forecasting, cost-effectiveness analysis, and ROI tracking.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regional health regulations, data privacy laws, and ethical standards.

  • Digital Health Fluency: Familiarity with digital platforms and tools used in occupational health and clinical operations.

  • Crisis Preparedness & Incident Response: Experience in business continuity planning, pandemic response, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Capability Building: Ability to design and implement development frameworks for clinical and non-clinical teams.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong collaboration skills with Legal, Risk, SHE, and other global functions.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and drive evidence-based decisions.

  • Change Management: Skilled in leading transformation initiatives and navigating organisational change.

  • Global Health Systems Knowledge: Understanding of how occupational health systems operate across diverse regulatory and cultural contexts, especially in emerging markets.

  • Programme & Portfolio Management: Skilled in managing complex, multi-region programmes with competing priorities, timelines, and stakeholders.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work across Legal, SHE, HR, Procurement, and IT to deliver integrated health solutions.

  • Ethical Decision-Making: Ability to navigate complex ethical scenarios in clinical governance, data privacy, and employee wellbeing.
