JOB PURPOSE 


TIM area is a Supply Chain enabler for most types of projects related to the product that Unilever sells which need to be implemented in our Factories, Copackers and Comakers. Manage and implement projects in product innovation, supply security, VIP, Quality improvement, capacity expansion, restructuring and flexibility in the Latam factories ensuring high quality standards, low cost and optimum performance.
TIM should support and validate every change in our products to prevent any negative impacts from previous development phases until implementation or industrialization and deliver the agreed key indicators through flawless execution always safeguarding safety, quality, sustainability and cost.
TIM Manager leads a structure created to ensure these new projects are executed in a vertical way and positively impact to the Business. Position requires developing a sound understanding of scale up principles, in-depth knowledge of manufacturing technology and material-process-product interactions. This understanding needs then to be converted into decisions, actions and initiatives that support and deliver the Business Group strategy, targets, and plans.

TIM Manager is not just a technology specialist but also an integrator of needs from different functions and areas into one technical and business solution.


RESPONSIBILITIES 

CHANGE MANAGEMENT
● Single point of contact for Technology inputs for teams like - Cluster R&D / Eng / Procurement/Category/Inno & Strategic planning and SU’s. Will represent SC in those Cluster Category forums. Acts as an extension to the Group Category Technology team and will ensure full alignment to the category technology program.
● Feed the technical definition for a business need – product, process, and packaging design.
● Lead and ensure execution of the Savings Programs in the category - Ensure committed savings are delivered without negative impacts and quality risks to products and to factory performance.
● Supply security- Guarantee business continuity through agile and quick reaction for materials contingency and prevent negative impact to Factory performance.
● Support factory initiatives related to process, RM, PM and technology improvements following UMS methodology.



CAPEX MANAGEMENT
● Drives Capex Management - supporting Short, Medium and Long Term investment for growth, innovation and convergence; Ensures implementation of long-term capacity plans.
● Responsible to drive improvement in ROA (return on assets). Provide new technology proposals offering cost reduction, capacity increase and process/pack flexibility in alignment with global standards.
● Develops and Manages Capex related to Inno and Savings program planning and implementation prioritization.

INNOVATION PROJECTS
● Drive Innovation Excellence / on time in full by leading Early Product management (which includes QA, product safety, planning and data co-ordination) and supporting Early Equipment Management / Design for Manufacturing.
● Lead innovation and renovation projects through delivery of Process Development workstream activities.
● Drive product innovation, superiority, and savings through the delivery of technology insights and deep domain expertise.
●Lead and/or support capability development workstreams around new technologies and/or new WoW, especially digital tools.
● Give inputs for the Business case for launch lock delivery.
● Ensure effective link with R&D, Planning, Marketing, Procurement and factories for innovation delivery.
● Scale up and adapt bench-scale processes to pilot and manufacturing scale.
● In case of existing new technologies, responsible to drive innovation process from validate phase to Commissioning/Execute phase in the cluster.

GENERAL
● Lead a team of Technology engineers.
● Implement digital solutions in production processes.
● Apply trends such as clean label, waste reduction, etc.
● Responsible for technical risk assessments to avoid safety, quality and food safety issues.
● Leads Early Product Management.
● Ensure technology harmonization, simplification, and flexible manufacturing.
● Responsible for compliance with all local/national/regional regulatory requirements - Product, Process, Packaging.
● Ensure technology standards and processes are implemented and are aligned to global specifications & standards.


WHAT YOU´LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● BEng or MEng in Chemical or Process Engineering or similar - Good Knowledge of Process and Technology / Equipment associated with an FMCG company.
● Knowledge and experience in Quality in Innovation for Manufacturing including statistical analysis and process control, supplier assessment and capabilities, risk assessments for raw materials / packing materials / formulations and validation of in –house and co-making operations.
● Able to prepare machine/ process stream specifications and machinery project management networks.
● Good understanding of the materials conversion processes.
● Excellent communication skills with different levels of stakeholders.
● Person who operates independently.
● 3–7 years’ experience in Process management and Technological projects.


REQUIERED COMPETENCES:

● Language: Spanish, fluid English (written/speaking), Portuguese desirable.
● Documented reports: Concreate and clear periodic reports for projects results/progress
● Team integration: Conduct discussions to solve problems and lead teams to get appropriate solutions.
● Leading extended teams: Usually works in virtual environments, with extended/foreign teams that must be conducted with independence, but always considering targets delivery on time in full
● Co-work in global, regional teams/projects: This role has the opportunity to run in many relevant initiatives, interconnected with current or future category plans within a wide world communities.
● Lifetime learning: New category standards, processes/projects are always coming; requiring a leader that will be in constant professional actualization. This professional updating includes projects development in regional communities, but also personal learning from papers, virtual training or plant/lab experiments.
