Background & Purpose of the Job

Unilever is recruiting for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner with time split between Rexdale, Ontario minutes from Pearson International Airportand downtown Toronto. The role is primarily set in a production environment and offers you a dynamic, collaborative workplace within a world-leading, fast-moving company. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for all HR (Human Resources) related activity at the Rexdale factory and at the Canadian Head Offices where our Canadian Nutrition business is based. This will include, but not limited to: Employee Advocacy, Employee Relations, Conflict Resolution, Employment Law/Legal Compliance, Performance Management, Coaching & Counseling, Organizational & Leadership Development, Change Agent, Succession Planning, and advising in HR processes. In addition, the HRBPis responsible forthe site’s culture and acts as people expert supporting the Plant’s positive employee relations and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) programs. The HRBP will also partner the Canadian General Manager of Nutrition and the business team responsible for Canada.  Lastly, the HR Business Partner will work cross functionally throughout the organization to implement HR strategy on a Company wide basis.

Who You Are & What You Will Do

  • Collaborates with the business to translate business priorities into a strategic and quantifiable people agenda
  • Maintains an external perspective, anticipates people trends, and embeds it into HR strategy.
  • Utilizes the talent development process and tools delivered by the Expertise Teams to develop, cultivate and maintain a diverse talent pipeline
  • Monitor employee climate to identify issues/trends and develop recommendations for problem solving as appropriate.
  • Maintain positive labor relations by cultivating the site’s union relationship, understanding & managing through a Collective Bargaining Agreement compliance with established internal HR policies and procedures and regulatory requirements

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • BA/BCom; MBA or master's degree is desirable.

  • 5+ Years of Experience as an HR Manager/HR Business Partner, specifically in employee engagement and change management

  • Labor Relations experience in a Union environment is desirable

  • Ability to act as a strong leadership partner to factory, Factory Director and General ManagerNutrition, Canada
