Background & Purpose of the Job

The purpose of this job is to lead the engineering design, contractor management, construction, commissioning and startup of all the utilities, civil/ architecture and sustainability aspects of a new greenfield manufacturing site for Beauty & Wellbeing, Personal Care and Home Care products. Reports to the Engineering Director.

You’re a born leader: You provide strategic technical leadership for the engineering design, contractor management, construction, commissioning and startup of all utilities, civil/ architecture and sustainability aspects of a new greenfield manufacturing site, bring best in class design, out of the box thinking, agile technology, best in class and cost-effective solutions, collaborating locally and globally to achieve these objectives. You have strong passion for Engineering Excellence and people development to drive technical and team’s performance. You strategically influence peers and stakeholders to drive the business agenda through technical and business solutions.

You’re a dot connector: You are the technology bridge between Supply Chain and other areas of the business, working with Engineering, Manufacturing, Innovation Quality, Supply Chain Planning, Procurement and other functions, representing technical excellence and understanding of the category technology. You perform successfully in a multi-functional/ discipline high performance team environment.

You’re a change maker: You flawlessly executes the project management leading all engineering aspects of the working programme working with several areas of the business in an integrated, high performance work team, bringing an outside-in and out of the box thinking beyond conventional manufacturing technology to build a factory that is state-of-the-art, agile, cost competitive, highly productive and highly digitized. You design a new operation that is best in class, ready for WEF Lighthouse and LEED certification, net zero and designed for the future.

You’re a culture and change champion: You provide and stimulate creative solutions to utilities and sustainability problems, rapid transfer of best practices, technology and innovative ideas across sites and you drive technology development and capital efficiency embracing outside-in mentality and willingness to experiment and collaborate. You help unlock value and execution with the team by leveraging resources through the network.

You love to win, and have fun doing it: You are recognized by the Engineering community and SC as the technical category expert in utilities, civil/ architecture and sustainability. You have strong technical expertise in utilities, sustainability and total systems approach in all work efforts (from raw and packing materials to process and connection to packing lines to final product). You define and execute utilities and sustainability capability, identify breakthrough opportunities for capital efficiency and promotes the use of new technologies. You have the ability to balance a variety of priorities while maintaining healthy relationships across the engineering team, key stakeholders and customers.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Essential

  • B.S. or B.E. degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent education with demonstrated working experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in related Engineering or Manufacturing environment. FMCG experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a people or project management role.
  • Professional engineering skills.
  • Project Management Leadership with strong Early Management expertise (EPM/ EEM).
  • SOLs: Purpose & Service, Personal Mastery, Agility, Business Acumen, Talent Catalyst, Passion for High Performance, Consumer Love
  • Skills: Leadership, Communication, Persuasion, Project Management, Analytical/ Systems Thinking

Desired

  • Firsthand experience/ track record of delivering and managing projects within Unilever or similar FMCG environment.
  • High knowledge of project management tools and system, including PMI certification.
  • Previous experience in Personal Care and Home care packing operations.
