We are looking for a Treasury & Tax Assistant Manager who will support tax consultation, planning, tax controversy, and non-routine compliance. This role will also be responsible in preparing timely and accurate tax information for accounting and reporting purposes for the Australian and New Zealand businesses. Also, manage day to day treasury operations (i.e., managing payments, reconciliations, journals, and other ad hoc matters), understand business needs and anticipate and lead change.
UNDERSTAND BUSINESS NEEDS & BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS
Build strong relationships within the Unilever ANZ Finance and IT teams. Partner and provide support on tax and treasury matters.
Develop an understanding of the Unilever business model and the impact of developments in direct and indirect taxes on the business. Support the ANZ Tax & Treasury Manager in communicating and acting on any developments.
Update, create and maintain desktop procedures relating to tax process and procedures performed by OSP, offshore teams or internally.
ANTICIPATE AND LEAD CHANGE
Strong understanding of SAP and accounting to be lead support on any global changes or developments.
Keep up to date on market technology and processes which can be used internally for automation or process simplification.
Act as SAP lead for ANZ tax (e.g., responsibility for journals and process improvements, support changes required for example from a change in GST rates).
Take lead role on certain automation and outsourcing projects, with guidance and support from ANZ Tax & Treasury Manager.
Present to the business and stakeholders on changes to processes, tax developments and outsourcing steps.
Assist the ANZ Tax & Treasury Manager with preparation for bi-annual FinFlex meetings.
SUPPORT CONSULTATION AND PLANNING
Remain up to date with tax and treasury risks and opportunities affecting ANZ.
Support the ANZ Tax & Treasury Manager as required on projects including M&A and divestments.
Support OSP and offshore teams (where required by the ANZ Tax & Treasury Manager) by providing inputs and responses relating to compliance matters.
Maintain Australian Capital Gains Tax Register, investigate options for automation or simplification using SAP and create and maintain DTP.
SUPPORT TAX CONTROVERSY AND NON-ROUTINE COMPLIANCE
Provide support to the ANZ Tax & Treasury Manager on tax audits and disputes. This may include assistance for Unilever prestige entities.
Work with the ANZ Tax & Treasury Manager on responses to streamlined assurance reviews, collection of FCCR defence data and presentations to tax authorities.
Complete and maintain calculations relating to non-routine compliance (e.g. calculation of debt ratios and distributor margins to demonstrate compliance with ATO PCG’s).
Preparation of the tax note for the Australian and New Zealand statutory accounts in accordance with the relevant accounting standards.
Complete Australia and NZ tax quarterly accounting models, journals, balance sheet reconciliations for review.
Provide tax payment forecasts.
Assist with preparation of Tax transparency report.

5-7 years’ experience within finance.
Degree qualified in accounting or business.
